Hiking the Hexatrek

I officially finished hiking the 3034km Hexatrek on September 30, 2023!

The HexaTrek is a thru-hike, connecting 14 of the most beautiful nationals parks and crossing France from the Vosges to the Pyrenees. The path follows the highest mountain regions in France joining together some of the most emblematic summits, natural wonders, and wildest places.

Starting on May 31, 2023, I set off from Wissembourg toward the end point in Hendaye. After hiking across the most remote mountains of France, and 138,000 metres of elevation, I became the first Canadian, and first North American woman to complete a full thru-hike of the Hexatrek.

This took some serious grit and perseverance, but at the same time was incredibly fun and rewarding. I spent 121 days on trail, sleeping in a tent, facing thunderstorms, snow, hail, heatwaves, record winds, and everything in between, while climbing some of the tallest peaks in the Alps and Pyrenees.

I met many wonderful people along the way and was helped by so many strangers turned trail angels. It was so fun to be among the first to attempt this trail, it truly was an epic adventure.
